ABSTRACT

The incidence of infectious diseases in Central Java is currently still high, causing a large number of antibiotic prescriptions. Inappropriate use of antibiotics can increase the risk of resistance. This study aims to determine the profile of antibiotic use in hospitalized patients at Prof. RSJ. Dr. Soerojo Magelang based on type and quantity in DDD units and DU90% profile. This research is observational (non-experimental) with an evaluative descriptive research design that was carried out retrospectively using data obtained from the Hospital Information System (SIRS) for the January-December 2021 period in the form of drug name, dosage form, dosage strength, quantity of use, number of patients. hospitalization per month, length of hospitalization, and profile of the top 10 diseases. Data analysis in this study used quantitative methods of Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC) / Defined Daily Dose (DDD) and Drug Utilization 90% (DU90%). The results showed that there were 16 kinds of antibiotics used during 2021 with a total usage value of 49.46 DDD/100 HR. The three most widely used antibiotics were azithromycin at 20.46 DDD/100 HR, ceftriaxone at 15.24 DDD/100 HR and cefadroxil at 4.59 DDD/100 HR. Antibiotics that fall into the DU90% segment are azithromycin, ceftriaxone, cefadroxil, ceftazidime, amoxicillin and levofloxacin.
