ABSTRACT

Cardiovascular disease is included in the category of non-communicable diseases (NCD) and is a major cause of death globally. The increase in cases of cardiovascular disease will affect the increase in the number of cardiovascular drug use. This study was conducted to determine the type, quantity, and profile of cardiovascular drug use using the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical/Defined Daily Dose (ATC/DDD) and Drug Utilization 90% (DU 90%) methods. This research is a descriptive study through retrospective data collection collected from information system at the pharmacy installation of RSJ Prof. Dr. Soerojo Magelang in 2021. The data obtained is then analyzed quantitatively by following the rules set by the WHO Collaborating Centre. The results showed that cardiovascular drugs with the highest use were heparin sodium with a DDD value of 19.89 DDD/100 HR, clopidogrel 11.05 DDD/100 HR, and diltiazem 2.13 DDD/100 HR. Cardiovascular drugs that fall into the 90% DU segment are heparin sodium with a 90% DU value of 41.55%, clopidogrel 73.43%, diltiazem 78.60%, bisoprolol 84.30%, simvastatin 88.54%, and ephedrine HCL 90.84%.
